Teeth

I'm sure many of you know how many baby teeth you have — you have 20 baby teeth. After you lose all of your baby teeth, you end up with 28 permanent teeth. This usually is complete by the time you are 14 years old. Then, around the age of 20, four more teeth grow in at the back of your mouth. These are called wisdom teeth. Does that mean we are smart after they come in?

We all know that we use our teeth for chewing and biting food. Did you know that they are also very important for talking? Let's try and say the word, "tooth" very slowly. Did you feel your tongue hit the inside of your front teeth to make the "t" sound and then it goes in-between your upper and lower teeth to make the "th" sound. Without teeth, this wouldn't be possible. Now try saying the work, "tooth" without letting your tongue near your teeth — impossible to do, isn't it?
